What should I know before using this tool?
What is the difference between resizing and compression?
Resizing changes the pixel dimensions. Compression changes how the pixels are encoded, and may reduce quality to save bytes. Resize when a form specifies width and height; use the compressor for a file-size limit.
Can I make a small image larger?
Yes, within the size limits. Enlarging adds interpolated pixels; it does not recover detail that was missing from the original image.
Will resizing stretch my image?
Keep aspect ratio is enabled by default. Turning it off allows independent width and height, which can stretch or squash the image. Use the crop tool to change the shape without stretching.
