How do I use JPG to PNG?

Convert JPG to PNG when an editor or upload form requires a PNG file. The conversion keeps the decoded pixels; it does not recover lost detail or remove the background. Processing happens in your browser.

  1. Choose up to 20 JPG still images from your device. You can also drag files onto the workspace.
  2. Review your selected images. PNG keeps transparent areas when the source has them.
  3. Select Convert to PNG, then download individual files or the whole batch as a ZIP.

Still JPG, PNG, and WebP images are supported. Each image can be up to 25 MB, 24 megapixels, and 8,192 pixels on either side. Your original file is never changed.

What should I know before using this tool?

Does JPG to PNG conversion improve image quality?

No. PNG cannot recover detail already lost to JPG compression. It is useful when an editor or upload form requires a PNG file.

What happens to transparency?

A JPG has no alpha channel. Converting it to PNG does not automatically remove its background.

Can I convert animated files?

This version accepts still images only. Animated WebP and APNG files are rejected so animation is not silently lost.

Will converting JPG to PNG make the file smaller?

Not necessarily. A PNG can be larger than the source JPG. Use the image compressor when your goal is a smaller file, and choose the format accepted by the destination.
